Gel Dressing for a Key loid scar, 2008-05-09
The gel sheets are OK but don't stay on like it says it should. The silicone gel in the tube was more effective.

The Best Product Available for Scar Prevention, 2008-01-22
My 5 y.o. daughter was attacked by a neighbors german shepherd several months ago. She sustained multiple bites to the right side of her face and left side of her throat/neck. After nearly 3 hours of reconstructive plastic surgery, she was left with a total of 14 cm of lacerated/sutured tissue. Obviously, I'm determined to do everything possible to minimize the scarring. Hours of extensive research online revealed that silicone products are the best for prevention/minimization of scar tissue. Cica Care is easy to use & take care of. (Wash with soap & water, and it can be reused..) It is comfortable for my daughter to wear, and it has even reduced the discomfort usually associated with scar tissue. She wears the patches @ night, and a liquid silicone product during the daytime. We are thrilled with the results so far! This is an amazing product & although it is expensive, to us it is priceless.

Best Silicone Gel Sheeting on the Market, 2007-08-09
I got an 3/4" hypertrophic scar on my face from tattoo removal (chemical burn) 2 years ago. I have tried Kelo-Cote gel, Curad Scar Sheets, and Hydrocortisone Iodoquinol (prescribed by doctor); but none work as well as CIca Care Silicone Gel Sheeting.
Kelo-Cote only removed the "top" layer of the scar, but it doesn't stop it from reforming/growing back. The Curad Scar Sheets "flatten" the scar, but it also "harden" so the texture of the skin is not normal.
The Cica Care Gel Sheeting softens the scar, allowing the "dead scar tissues" be gradually removed during washing. From my personal experience, I found that it's best not to wash with soap or any cleanser, and keep the scar area as dry as possible -- just wash gently using a clean, damp washcloth.
What worked well for me was to use Cica Care Gel Sheeting at night, and Hydrocortisone Iodoquinol during the day. The CC Gel Sheeting softens the scar allowing it to slowly removed during washing. The Hydrocortisone Iodoqionol helped the skin heal and prevents infection.
